In 1974, when BZN decides to change their musical course, Jan Keizer takes over the microphone. Jan Veerman then takes his old profession as a crane driver.

Jan is mostly recording the guitarplay of Cees and Evert and ticking the rhythm on the ground. After a number of weeks Jan is asked what his plans for the future are; does he want to play an instrument or do something else. They still need a bassguitar player. Jan decides to take the bass on his account, because he cannot read musical notes.
Jan Veerman (nickname Jan Kies) (* 4 oktober 1948) was the first singer in the Volendammer band BZN, from the start in 1965 till 1 may 1974.
