There are over 85 faculty members in multiple sub-specialties involved in various aspects of resident education and 10 well-trained and experienced pathology assistants to assist residents with grossing, autopsy, frozen section, and tissue procurement.
Our division, based in the James Cancer Hospital and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Pathology, provides clinical molecular diagnostic testing for a wide range of cancer conditions, cardiovascular risk, and inheritable genetic disorders.

In a family with familial thoracic aortic aneurysm/dissection, we identified a missense p. (Ser178Arg) variant in PLOD1 segregating with disease, and evaluated PLOD1 enzymatic activity, collagen characteristics and in human aortic vascular smooth muscle cells, studied the effect on function.
