I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to lead our Department of Pathology as Chair. Over the past 20 years, I have had the privilege to serve with many of you in multiple roles including Residency Program Director, Executive Director of the HTRN, Vice-Chair and Director of Anatomic Pathology and Chief of GI and Liver Division and Fellowship.

Our study demonstrates that pre-fixation of tissues for approximately 90 minutes before sectioning improves the quality of histology sections of the right kidney, left kidney, left ventricle, right ventricle, interventricular septum, and liver (Figure 2B, right ventricle).

Our division, based in the James Cancer Hospital and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Pathology, provides clinical molecular diagnostic testing for a wide range of cancer conditions, cardiovascular risk, and inheritable genetic disorders.

Together, the findings suggest that the PLOD1 product is preserved, however newly identified glucosyltransferase activity of PLOD1 appears to be affected by folding stability of the variant, and is associated with compensatory vascular smooth muscle cells phenotypic switching to support collagen production, albeit with less robust fibril girth.
