The following is a list of women's colleges in the United States, organized by state. These are institutions of higher education in the United States whose student populations are composed exclusively or almost exclusively of women. There are approximately sixty active women's colleges in the U.S., most commonly liberal arts colleges .
13 de jun. de 2011 · The College of Saint Mary of the Springs formally opened in 1924, as a Catholic women’s college in Columbus, Ohio. In 1964, the College allowed men to enroll. Then in 1968 the College of Saint Mary of the Springs became Ohio Dominican College.

The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio is the diocese of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America with jurisdiction over 40 counties in southern Ohio. It is one of 15 dioceses that make up the Province of the Midwest (Province 5).
29 de mar. de 2024 · On this site stood St. Mary of the Springs Academy, a school for girls first founded by the Dominican Sisters in 1830 in Somerset, Ohio, to respond to the educational needs of frontier Catholics. The school operated in Somerset until 1866 when a devastating fire destroyed the buildings.
According to the Academy, St. Mary's girls are young Catholic women who honor Christ, the Virgin Mary, their community, country, family, and friends. Four years of classes at the school will supposedly imbue girls with "serenity, maturity, and dependability of character."
As one of the premier college- preparatory schools for girls, St. Mary’s recognizes the need to prepare young women for a lifetime of opportunity.
