[2] Describing their style as "Solar Music", the band mixed psychedelic Krautrock with hard rock in the 1970s, before shifting to a more mainstream pop and rock style in the 1980s. [1]
Im Jahre 1970 verschmolzen in der nordrhein-westfälischen Stadt Hagen mehrere Schülerbands zu Grobschnitt. Namensgebend war die Kapelle Elias Grobschnitt, die sich im Ersten Weltkrieg aus Soldaten mit selbstgebastelten Musikinstrumenten gebildet hatte.
