The pupil is a hole located in the center of the iris of the eye that allows light to strike the retina. It appears black because light rays entering the pupil are either absorbed by the tissues inside the eye directly, or absorbed after diffuse reflections within the eye that mostly miss exiting the narrow pupil.
A pupila é uma estrutura preta e circular localizada no centro do olho. Ao redor da pupila encontramos a parte colorida do olho, a íris. A função da pupila é permitir a passagem e entrada da luz no olho. A luz pode então interagir com as células da retina, dando início à via visual, que nos dá a habilidade de enxergar.
