Josh Friend, known by his stage name Modestep, is a dubstep and electronic rock DJ and record producer from London. Originally Modestep was a band but with the band's most recent past member, Pat Lundy, leaving the band in 2022 Modestep became a solo act by Josh Friend.

From as early as I can remember, I was always surrounded by music. I was lucky enough that my parents loved to have music playing all the time, lots of “Motown” and British music.
Known for his time as the lead singer of the British electronic rock band Modestep. He and his bandmates released their second full length studio album, London Road, on May 26, 2015. It peaked at #23 on the Billboard Top US Dance charts.
