Len Garry (born 6 January 1942) is an English musician, best known for being a member of The Quarrymen, a band that would later evolve into The Beatles.
Len Garry – from the Quarrymen’s official website. From McCartney Times: Garry‘s time in the Quarry Men ended in 1958 when, at the age of 16, he contracted tubercular meningitis and was hospitalized, lapsing into a coma and almost dying.
All five surviving members from that day, Pete Shotton, Rod Davis, Len Garry, Eric Griffiths and Colin Hanton, performed. Following this, the group continued to perform, undertaking tours of the UK, the US, Germany, Japan, Russia, Cuba and other countries.
Ten years ago today at B.B. King's Nightclub in NYC, Len Garry of The Quarrymen spoke of the day he met John Lennon. The rest is well-known history.
