Martha Haskins, Lady Darwin (née du Puy; July 27, 1861 - 6 February 1947), known as Maud Darwin, was an American socialite and the wife of the English Cambridge University astronomer Sir George Darwin.
George Howard Darwin, FRS (9 de julho de 1845 — Cambridge, 7 de dezembro de 1912) [1] foi um astrônomo e matemático inglês. Foi Professor Plumiano de Astronomia e Filosofia Experimental (1883–1912).

Darwin married Martha (Maud) du Puy, the daughter of Charles du Puy of Philadelphia, in 1884; his wife was a member of the Ladies Dining Society in Cambridge, with 11 other members. She died on 6 February 1947.

Career. She was the wife of the English Cambridge University astronomer Sir George Darwin. She rejected twice the marriage proposals of Henry Martyn Taylor. The Jebbs were able to join them. In 1885 they bought Newnham Grange in Cambridge. They had five children: Gwen Raverat (1885–1957), the artist.
