  1. Jarvis Collegiate Institute is a high school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is named after Jarvis Street where it is located. It is a part of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). Prior to 1998, it was within the Toronto Board of Education (TBE). Founded in 1807, it is the oldest active high school in Ontario.

It was designed by Charles E C Dyson, the Chief Architect for the Toronto Board of Education. Created in the Collegiate Gothic style, the architectural gem is symmetrical and features arched entrances with a projecting tower and cut stone oriel window bays.

  7. Many people think that Jarvis Collegiate was named after the infamous William and Samuel Jarvis. However the school was named after the street that it was first built on (hence the former name Jarvis Street Collegiate Institute).
