Francis Godolphin, 2nd Earl of Godolphin, PC (3 September 1678 – 17 January 1766), styled Viscount Rialton from 1706 to 1712, was an English courtier and politician who sat in the English and British House of Commons between 1695 and 1712, when he succeeded to the peerage as Earl of Godolphin.

Godolphin first sat in the House on 3 Feb. 1713, a day of prorogation. As preparations were made for the session to commence for business in April 1713, the duke and duchess of Marlborough, in voluntary exile on the continent, looked to Godolphin as their representative and agent in the House.
Upon her marriage to The Hon. Francis Godolphin in March 1698, she became Lady Henrietta Godolphin, then Viscountess Rialton in 1706, when her father-in-law was created Earl of Godolphin. When her husband succeeded as 2nd Earl of Godolphin in 1712, she became Countess of Godolphin .
Francis Godolphin, 2nd Baron Godolphin (2 November 1706 – 25 May 1785) was a British politician and peer. Life and career. He was the eldest surviving son of Henry Godolphin, provost of Eton and Dean of St Paul's, and was educated at Eton College (1718–1721) and Queen’s College, Oxford (1723).
Biography. Godolphin was born in Westminster, probably because his father was in attendance at Court. Orphaned at the age of seven, he was brought up by his uncle, Sir Francis Godolphin*, who in 1626 introduced him to Parliament as a Member for Helston while he was still a minor.
