In 1912, the New York physician Isaac Adler, Professor Emeritus at the New York Polyclinic, Consulting Physician to the German, Beth-Israel, Har Moriah, and Peoples Hospitals, and to the Montefiore Home and Hospital, published what was probably the first monograph in English wholly dedicated to lung cancer.
