Another Country is a 1984 British romantic historical drama written by Julian Mitchell, adapted from his play of the same name. Directed by Marek Kanievska, the film stars Rupert Everett and Colin Firth in his feature film debut.
Based on the life of Guy Burgess, a Cambridge spy who defected to Russia, the film explores his homosexuality and rebellion in a public school. Starring Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, and Michael Jenn, the film was nominated for three BAFTA awards.
