The Testament is the life story of Paltiel Kossover, a Jewish Russian poet, who's was executed in 1952 at the order of Josef Stalin mainly because he was a Jew. Paltiel was killed when his son Grisha was only 3, and so Grisha grows up not knowing the story of his father.
