The Fizfak (Faculty of Physics) of Moscow State University is one of the most esteemed faculties of Moscow State University, widely regarded by students as one of the toughest faculties in the university. It was established in 1933. The current dean of the faculty - Nikolay Sysoev.

About 150--160 best graduates of the Faculty of Physics and other candidates from Russia and Belarus who have the diploma of "specialist" or "master" join annually the PhD studies program at the faculty.
The Quantum Technology Centre was established at the Faculty of Physics, Lomonosov MSU, in 2018 under National Technological Initiative. The center leads research programs in fiber-optic and atmospheric quantum cryptography, cold atom physics, quantum optics, nanophotonics, nonlinear optics, and cryoelectronics.
Field of science activity: Physics of ferroelectrics, structural phase transitions, critical phenomena, physics of real crystals. Direction of reseach: Experimental study of the anomalous change of physical properties at ferroelectric phase transitions.
