Bernardo, Príncipe de Saxe-Meiningen (em alemão: Bernhard, Prinz von Sachsen-Meiningen; 30 de Junho de 1901 – 4 de Outubro de 1984) foi o chefe da Casa de Saxe-Meiningen desde 1946 até à sua morte.
Biography. Bernhard was born on 1 April 1851 at Meiningen in what was then the German Confederation , as the eldest son of Georg II, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen and his first wife Princess Charlotte of Prussia. [1] Bernhard had one full sister, Princess Marie Elisabeth, and several half-brothers by his father's second marriage.

Bernhard I, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen ( Gotha, 10 September 1649 – Meiningen, 27 April 1706) was a duke of Saxe-Meiningen . He was the sixth but third surviving son of Ernst I, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Altenburg and Elisabeth Sophie of Saxe-Altenburg .
Bernhard chose the town of Meiningen as his residence and became the first duke of Saxe-Meiningen. From 1682 Duke Bernhard I had the Schloss Elisabethenburg built and in 1690 established a court orchestra (Hofkapelle), in which Johann Ludwig Bach later became the Kapellmeister (1711).
