Whale Music is a 1992 studio album by Canadian rock band Rheostatics. It should not be confused with the soundtrack to the film Whale Music, which was also composed by the band and released in 1994.

Whale Music is about the little indignities that make everyday life a living hell. The narrator of the amazing “California Dreamline” gets sand in his tequila, and thusly wishes for California to break off along the fault line so all its citizens can swim with the dolphins.

In the 2005 poll, Whale Music placed tenth, becoming one of six albums to place in the top ten all three times, and Melville placed 44th. In all of the magazine's three polls, Neil Young is the only other artist to have achieved the distinction of placing two albums in the top five in the same year.

21 de mai. de 2024 · On May 22, 1992, “Sire” label released “Whale Music”, the third Rheostatics album. It was recorded February – March 1992, at “Reaction Studios” in Toronto, Ontario, and was produced by Matt DeMatteo and James Stewart.
