The Loved One - The Movie With Something to Offend Everyone - THE LOVED ONE, a 1965 Black Comedy by Tony Richardson based on Evelyn Waugh's Novel Stanley Kubrick and Terry Southern's Dr. Strangelove was probably the first official "out there" black comedy of the 1960s.
Plot. Sir Ambrose Abercrombie visits housemates Dennis Barlow and Sir Francis Hinsley to express his concern about Barlow's new job and how it reflects on the British enclave in Hollywood, which is also taken as an announcement of Barlow's impending exclusion from British society.
