In Burmese Days, George Orwell explores the themes of imperialism, racism, and corruption in colonial Burma. Through his vivid descriptions of the British colonial society and the Burmese natives, Orwell provides a scathing social commentary on the oppressive nature of imperialism and the damaging effects it has on both the colonizers and the colonized.
Burmese Days, however, is something very different. It is a portrait of the dark side of the Raj, chronicling sordid and shameful episodes of empire life.
