巴基斯坦国立综合研究型大学
旁遮普大学，又分拉合尔旁遮普大学与昌迪加尔旁遮普大学。旁遮普大学由英印政府于1882年在拉合尔市创建，由于1947年印巴分治，印度在其旁遮普邦首府昌迪加尔成立了新的旁遮普大学，与位于拉合尔市的旁遮普大学共同承继同一校史。
旁遮普大学（拉合尔）是一所大型国立综合性研究型大学，位于旁遮普省首府拉合尔市，由英印政府于1882年创建，是巴基斯坦历史最悠久、规模最大的高等学府，也是英国人在南亚次大陆穆斯林地区建立的第一所高校，曾培养出三名诺贝尔奖得主，是南亚地区著名的高等学府之一，世界百强名校，在西方国家也享有崇高的声誉。
拉合尔曾是莫卧儿帝国的首都，被誉为巴基斯坦历史与文化活着的城市。旁遮普大学在巴基斯坦的高等教育中起着重要作用，在巴基斯坦高等教育委员会认定的TOP10名单里排名第二。旁遮普大学为众多学术追求者营造了优良的学术环境。旁大优质的教育品质，愉悦的环境氛围和低廉的学费，是众多国内与国际学子选择来此学习进修的主要原因。
校区介绍：
阿拉玛·伊克巴尔（Allama Iqbal）校区，以南亚伟大的思想家和神秘诗人伊克巴尔命名，以伊斯兰风格的特色建筑设计为主基调，坐落于繁华的拉合尔市中心。
奎德·阿里·阿扎姆（Quaid-i-Azam，英语为Great Leader）校区，以国父名字命名，位于阿拉玛·伊克巴尔校区以南12公里处。这座校区是学校学术和行政活动的中心，占地1800英亩，有葱郁的绿色景观。一条运河将学术街区与学生宿舍区分隔开来。
哈纳斯布尔（Khanaspur）校区是一个夏季校区，位于海拔约7000英尺的喜马拉雅山脉阿尤比亚（Ayubia）附近。这个校区，除了提供研究设施外，还被用作教师和学生的娱乐中心。

旁遮普大学是1882年10月14日在西姆拉召开的第一次参议院会议上正式成立的。这是英国殖民当局在印度次大陆建立的第四所大学，穆斯林占多数的地区的第一所大学。前三所大学是由英国统治者在他们最初的据点——孟买、马德拉斯和加尔各答建立的。旁遮普大学是在1857年独立战争后，旁遮普人民长期奋斗的结果。与之前建立的三所研究型大学不同的是，旁遮普大学从一开始就是教学和科研的双重设置。
G. W. Leitner博士——一个开明的匈牙利人，一个归化的英国人——在这所大学的建立中起了重要作用，作出了巨大贡献。他成为了第一任负责人。在1928-1936年期间担任这所大学校长的A. C. Woolner教授，在20世纪最初几十年的发展中发挥了关键作用。他的雕像仍然矗立在阿拉玛·伊克巴尔校园里。
