Based upon the novel Nastanirh by Rabindranath Tagore, it stars Soumitra Chatterjee, Madhabi Mukherjee and Sailen Mukherjee.
Charulata is a film based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore, about a lonely wife who falls in love with her brother-in-law. It is considered one of the best works by the acclaimed director Satyajit Ray, who also wrote the screenplay and composed the music.
