Selwyn College, Cambridge. 1973. Printable PDF version. George Augustus Selwyn was the first Bishop of New Zealand 1841-68, and at the end of his life, Bishop of Lichfield (1868-78). He helped to create not only the Church in, but also the Dominion of New Zealand; a big, powerful, controversial, fearless man.
Selwyn is a medium-size College located a short walk from the city centre. Our spacious site is set in beautiful gardens that create a calm and relaxing environment. The College has produced leaders in many fields and is at the heart of Cambridge’s academic facilities.
