  1. James Sarsfield, 2nd Earl of Lucan (1693-1719), was a French-born Jacobite of Irish descent. He was the son of Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan and his wife Honora Burke.

    The Sarsfields had almost continuous possession of Lucan Castle, as it was then, and the lands up to 1718, when James Sarsfield, the second Earl of Lucan, died without an heir. The title died with him. His father was Patrick Sarsfield (1650-1693), first Earl of Lucan.
