And with impressive results, kicking things off in a big way with the groovy Beck ish folk-hop of opening track Two Way Action and the lumpy Morphine junk-blues of Core and Rind .
Oh! The Grandeur is the third studio album by the American singer-songwriter Andrew Bird, and his second with the band Bowl of Fire. The first track, "Candy Shop", was recorded as a demo track for the then-upcoming Tim Robbins film, Cradle Will Rock (though the song did not appear in the film).
Leaving Squirrel Nut Zippers, Bird started a band, Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire, and released two albums in 1998 and 1999, Thrills and Oh! The Grandeur. These are both now being re-released for their 25th anniversary. So how do these two albums stack up 25 years on? Essentially, quite well.
