  2. King Edward VI School, Lichfield, is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school and sixth form located near the heart of the city of Lichfield, Staffordshire, England.

  3. The present King Edward VI School was created in 1972 by the merger of the grammar school with Kingshill modern school which had been built on an adjacent site in the 1950s to cater for the City's expanding population.

  4. Most students join the school from local primary schools at the age of 11 (Year 7) through the Local Authority’s admission arrangements for secondary schools which King Edward VI School has adopted.

  5. The King Edward VI School is a high achieving school, with a reputation for academic excellence for all. We provide for over 1400 students from years 9-13 and have a thriving Sixth Form of around 450 students.

  6. Our curriculum is wide ranging and meets the needs of all of our students. It aims to equip students with the skills necessary to maximise their success both in school and in their life after school – academic outcomes are only one part of the success we measure.
