Alibi is the ninth studio album by American folk rock duo America, released by Capitol Records in 1980. History. Prior to their second album on Capitol, Bunnell and Beckley amicably parted ways with George Martin in an effort to try a new musical direction. For the new album, the group utilized two producers— Matthew McCauley and Fred Mollin.

It was initially released without "A Horse with No Name", which was released as a single in Europe in late 1971 and in the US in January 1972. When "A Horse with No Name" became a worldwide hit in early 1972, the album was re-released with that track.

Great Rock Album. This is one of the best 5 albums from the band. This album is faster beat than the rest, with only 3 slow songs (maybe 3.5). The first 4 songs and the last 4 are my favorites, though all songs are cool. Especially Survival and the next 3, and Coastline. This album was very underrepresented in US, for it did real well in Italy.
