The group was formed in 1996, in Melbourne, Victoria, by singer/songwriter/guitarist Glenn Richards, drummer David Williams, guitarist Adam Donovan, and bassist Edmond Ammendola. In 1998 the band expanded to include keyboardist Rob Dawson.
