Sir John Stanley, KG (circa 1350–1414) was Lord Lieutenant of Ireland and the first King of Mann. He married a wealthy heiress Isabel Lathom and had four sons and two daughters. The crest of Lathom adopted by Stanley is associated with the Stanley Legend, where a Lord of Lathom adopted an infant that an eagle brought to its nest.
