Bill Hopkins (5 May 1928 – 6 May 2011) was a Welsh novelist and journalist who has been grouped with the angry young men. His father was Ted Hopkins, a popular stage performer; his mother was Violet Brodrick.
Bill Hopkins was born in 1943 in Prestbury, Cheshire (England). He studied with Luigi Nono at Dartington Summer School, then at Oxford University with Egon Wellesz and Edmund Rubbra (1961–1964).
Bill Hopkins was born in Cardiff in 1928. His father was Ted Hopkins, the Welsh music hall artiste and his mother the performer Violette Broderick. He was in the air force and worked as a news correspondent for the occupying forces in Europe after the war. He later worked for the New York Times.
Bill Hopkins (5 June 1943 – 10 March 1981) was a British composer. He also published music criticism, mostly under the name G. W. Hopkins.
The band's biggest hit single, "You Are the Woman", peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976. Other hits included "Just Remember I Love You" (#11 in 1977), "Strange Way" (#11 in 1978), "Cinderella" (#34 in 1977), "Headed for a Fall" (#35 in 1980), and "Staying with It" (#37 in 1981).

Bill Hopkins was one of the “Angry Young Men” group of writers who emerged in the 1950s. He was the most prominent of the “Outsiders” trio amongst the “Angry Young Men”—a groupuscule which consisted of himself, Colin Wilson, and Stuart Holroyd.
