King's Bruton is an independent fully co-educational secondary boarding and day school in the English public school tradition located in Bruton, Somerset, England. [1] It was founded in 1519 by Richard FitzJames, and received royal foundation status around 30 years later in the reign of Edward VI.
Admissions. I am delighted to welcome you to King’s Bruton Admissions. My name is Gilly Bunday and I am the Registrar. I hope to make the process of applying for a place for your son or daughter as easy and straightforward as possible.
The School sees itself as a community made up of the pupils, the staff, the parents, the Friends of King’s and the alumni. And as with every community we strive to provide opportunities for all the constituent parts to come together in support of this wonderful school.
King’s Bruton is a co-educational, boarding and day school with 350 pupils aged 13-18. The School celebrated its 500th anniversary in 2019 with a visit from Her Majesty The Queen. There are 3 boys’ and 3 girls’ Houses with day pupils integrated with boarders in each House.

King's Bruton was founded in 1519 and is situated in the historic Somerset town of Bruton which offers excellent road and rail links. The School celebrated its 500th Anniversary in 2019 by building a new music school which was opened by Her Majesty The Queen.
