The Army Command and General Staff College (ECEME) is located at Praia Vermelha in Rio de Janeiro. It is a historical school of the Brazilian Army. ECEME´s mission is to prepare military leaders, senior advisors and General-Staff officers and contribute to the development of military doctrine and thought of the Ground Force.
A Escola Militar da Praia Vermelha foi um centro de formação de oficiais do Exército Brasileiro, que funcionou de 1858 até 1904 no Rio de Janeiro.

Hoje vamos apresentar a Escola Militar da Praia Vermelha, a Escola de Guerra de Porto Alegre, a Escola Preparatória e Táctica do Rio Pardo e a Escola Militar do Realengo.
The training of military engineers, as well as that of officers in general, was held at the Military School of Praia Vermelha (1874 to 1904). In that last year, the School was transferred to Realengo, where the Engineering and Artillery officers graduated.
On the other hand, military officers began to be trained at the Praia Vermelha Military School. Under the influence of the French Military Mission, which visited Brazil in the 1920's, Brazilian Army decided to create the Engineering Military School in 1928 to graduate military engineers.
The course provides Brazilian and Partner Nations senior officers the opportunity of approaching major political, military, social, economic and scientific aspects and intents to enhance cooperation and integration among Armed Forces.
