Kornel Andrzej Morawiecki (3 May 1941 – 30 September 2019) was a Polish politician, the founder and leader of Fighting Solidarity (Polish: Solidarność Walcząca), one of the splinters of the Solidarity movement in Poland during the 1980s.

Mateusz Morawiecki attended the unveiling of a plaque and a movie screening dedicated to his father, a legend of the "Fighting Solidarity" organisation. Kornel Morawiecki was a physicist, teacher and activist who fought against the communist system in Poland.
Kornel Morawiecki was one of these dissidents that any totalitarian regime fears most. In the 1970s, his resolute and uncompromising political attitude was reflected in the radical anti-communist texts and speeches, and in the early 1980s culminated in his founding of the Fighting Solidarity.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki attended ceremonies to unveil plaques dedicated to the late Kornel Morawiecki in Jędrzejów and Nawarzyce. He also laid flowers at the plaque commemorating the firefighters, founders of the Voluntary Fire Service in Nawarzyce.
Kornel Morawiecki urodził się 3 maja 1941 r. w okupowanej przez Niemców Warszawie. Jego rodzice, Michał i Jadwiga, pobrali się niedługo przed wybuchem wojny. Pod jej koniec urodziła się siostra przyszłego twórcy Solidarności Walczącej – Zofia, a w 1953 r. brat Ryszard.
