The Jazz Messengers were a jazz combo that existed for over thirty-five years beginning in the early 1950s as a collective, and ending when long-time leader and founding drummer Art Blakey died in 1990.

8 de out. de 2013 · The name of this 1957 recording is “ Cu-Bop ” and features Art Blakey and his Jazz Messengers along with Sabu and a Bongo. This album was an individual goal for me because of my Cuban heritage and intimate love of Cuban music that per-dates the 70’s.
