William Clere Leonard Brendan Parsons, 7th Earl of Rosse (often known simply as Brendan Rosse; born 21 October 1936), is an Anglo-Irish peer. He is also 10th Baronet Parsons, of Birr Castle.
He succeeded his father as the 7th Earl of Rosse in 1979. During hias first thirty years as earl, Lord and Lady Rosse facilitated research by A.P.W. Malcomson resulting in the production of a comprehensive Calendar of the Rosse Papers in 2008.

The 7th Earl of Rosse, Brendan Parsons, spent his career in the United Nations Development Programme, living with his wife Alison and their family in many third world countries. He returned to Ireland on his father’s death in 1979.
The castle is lived in today by Brendan and Alison Parsons, Earl and Countess of Rosse – Brendan is the seventh earl – who have transformed an old stable block into Ireland’s Historic Science Centre, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of their ancestors.
