Synopsis. Film starts with Bhasker being awarded at a literary fest. He admits that his book is just a few pages of his personal diary. Bhaskar Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan), an oncologist, treats the poor for no charge, but is often disheartened by the fact that he cannot cure all the ailments in the world which are mostly driven by poverty.
