Exodus is the second ’solo' album by the New Power Generation and was only released in Europe, Australia and Taiwan in March 1995. While the previous album, Gold Nigga , featured Tony M. as the lead vocalist, Exodus featured lead vocals by Sonny T. and by Prince , disguised as Tora Tora .

Exodus is the second album solely credited to Prince’s backing band the New Power Generation, following 1993’s GoldNigga.
The New Power Generation, also known as the NPG, was the backing band of musician Prince from 1990 to 2013. They were replaced by 3rdeyegirl as his backing band in 2013. In 2015, the New Power Generation reunited as Prince's backing band for his final studio album before his death, Hit n Run Phase Two .
