Accept is a German heavy metal band from Solingen, formed in 1976 by lead guitarist Wolf Hoffmann, singer Udo Dirkschneider and bassist Peter Baltes. Their beginnings can be traced back to the late 1960s, when the band got its start under the name Band X.
Soon they added Hansi Heitzer on Guitar, Frank Friedrich on Drums and Dieter Rubach on Bass. This was the very first incarnation of the Band Accept. 1975: 16-year old Wolf Hoffmann was added as a second guitar player to replace Hansi Heitzer, drastically changing the sound of the band.
