Captain Robert Boyle-Walsingham FRS (March 1736 – 5 October 1780) was an Anglo-Irish Royal Navy officer and politician. He was killed in the Great Hurricane of 1780 while serving as a commodore onboard HMS Thunderer.
Hon. Robert Boyle Walsingham. 1736-1780. Born in March 1736, he was the fifth son of the eminent Irish politician Henry Boyle, 1st Earl of Shannon, and of his wife Lady Henrietta Boyle, the youngest daughter of Charles, 2nd Earl of Burlington in the English peerage and the 3rd Earl of Cork in the Irish peerage.

Hon. Robert Boyle-Walsingham (1736-1780) was the son of Henry Boyle, 1st Earl of Shannon and Lady Henrietta Boyle. He married Charlotte Hanbury-Williams, daughter of Sir Charles Hanbury-Williams and Lady Frances Coningsby, in 1759.
