François Blanc (French: [fʁɑ̃swa blɑ̃]; 12 December 1806 – 27 July 1877), nicknamed "The Magician of Homburg" and "The Magician of Monte Carlo", was a French entrepreneur and operator of casinos, including the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco.
François Blanc, surnommé « le magicien de Homburg » ou « le magicien de Monte-Carlo », né le 12 décembre 1806 à Courthézon et mort le 27 juillet 1877 à Loèche-les-Bains, est un homme d'affaires et promoteur immobilier français, organisateur de jeux de hasard.
Responsible for the success of the Hamburg casino in Germany, François Blanc (1806 - 1877), in 1863, was given the privilege of managing gambling in Monaco through the intermediary of the Société des Bains de Mer et du Cercle des Etrangers (Monegasque tourism establishment which now owns gambling, entertainment and leisure properties).
