Walthamstow College of Art was an art school based in Walthamstow, north-east London. In the 1970s, it was merged into North East London Polytechnic and is now part of the University of East London (UEL).
In the early 1960s, the old guard running Walthamstow art school quit – and a riotous new spirit took hold, galvanising students from Ian Dury to Peter Blake.

Waltham Forest College has been creating futures for over 80 years. Since its formation in 1938 as the South-West Essex Technical College and School of Art, the College and its staff and students have seen many changes and have evolved and adapted to continually offer a valuable service to the region.
