Ishbel Allan MacDonald (2 March 1903 – 20 June 1982) was the daughter of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Ramsay MacDonald and his wife Margaret MacDonald née Gladstone. Margaret's death in 1911 – a year after their son David had died – left Ramsay a single father to his remaining five children.
Ishabel T. MacDonald is a Gaelic tradition bearer who has served Gaelic culture as a singer, singing teacher, song collector, composer and writer. She was very much involved in the first-ever Fèis, held on Barra in 1981, from which the Fèisean movement developed and has contributed to the repertoires of emerging and established singers.
8 de dez. de 2017 · The recently acquired archive of Ishbel Peterkin née MacDonald (1903-1982) sheds light on the burdens of this. Ishbel was the eldest daughter of Ramsay MacDonald, the first Prime Minister for the Labour Party in the UK, first in 1924 and again from 1929 to 1935.

Sheila Ramsay Lochhead (née MacDonald; 7 December 1910 – 22 July 1994) was a hostess, prison visitor and writer. In 1924 her widowed father, Ramsay MacDonald, became Britain's Prime Minister. Her sister Ishbel MacDonald, became his political hostess and then Sheila took on the role.
1 de ago. de 2024 · When her father became Prime Minister in 1924, he decided that Ishbel should take the role of his hostess at 10 Downing Street. This turned out to be a permanent role; she acted as his official hostess through his three terms of office and his years in opposition until he died in 1937.
