Na manhã de quarta pelo fuso horário sul-coreano, o portal Osen noticiou em primeira mão que Lee Areum foi levada ao hospital após uma tentativa de suicídio. A ex-integrante do T-ARA está em meio a um processo de divórcio de seu marido, Kim Young Gul, com quem se casou em 2019 e tem dois filhos.

2012: Debut with T-ARA
On June 14, 2012, she was introduced as the newest member of T-ARA. She made her official debut with the group on July 3, 2012 with the mini album Day by Day.
2013: Debut with T-ARA N4, departure
On April 7, 2013, it was announced Areum would debut as part of the group's sub-unit T-ARA N4. The group officially debuted on May 2 with the mini album Jeon Won Diary. On July 10, MBK Entertainment announced Areum would be leaving the group in order to pursue a solo career.However, no solo activities ever came to fruition, and she terminated her contract with the agency in August 2014.
2017: The Unit
On August 14, 2017, it was announced Areum would be making her first public appearance in nearly four years through the survival show The Unit.She was eliminated in episode 10 after ranking 44th place.
