10 de jun. de 2024 · De PH-BFV ‘City of Vancouver’ was de laatste 747 van KLM die Nederland verliet. Op maandag 15 maart 2021 werd het toestel door fans uitgezwaaid op Schiphol. Dit gebeurde nadat KLM tijdens de coronacrisis had besloten om versneld afscheid te nemen van de 747-400-passagiersvliegtuigen.
10 de jun. de 2024 · Op luchthaven Londen Stansted is de sloop gestart (of beter gezegd: de ontmanteling) van de laatste Boeing 747-400 waar KLM afscheid van nam: de voormalige PH-BFV. De waardevolle onderdelen van het toestel worden zoveel mogelijk hergebruikt.
21 de jun. de 2024 · Tenerife airline disaster, runway collision of two Boeing 747 passenger airplanes in the Canary Islands on March 27, 1977. The disaster killed more than 580 people. Both planes involved in the crash had been scheduled to depart from Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria.
