Firewall filtering rules are grouped together in chains. It allows a packet to be matched against one common criterion in one chain, and then passed over for processing against some other common criteria to another chain. For example a packet should be matched against the IP address:port pair.
Summary. Winbox is a small utility that allows administration of MikroTik RouterOS using a fast and simple GUI. It is a native Win32 binary, but can be run on Linux and MacOS (OSX) using Wine. All Winbox interface functions are as close as possible mirroring the console functions, that is why there are no Winbox sections in the manual.
Connecting to a device. 1) Run the Winbox utility. 2) Navigate to "Neighbors". 3) See if Winbox finds your Router and it's MAC address. Info: Winbox neighbor discovery will discover all routers on the broadcast network. 4) If you see your router on the list, connect to it by clicking on IP/MAC address and pressing Connect button.
