Vinton Gray Cerf, in het dagelijks leven Vint Cerf genoemd (New Haven (Connecticut), 23 juni 1943) is een Amerikaans internetontwerper en zakenman. Hij wordt ook wel de 'vader van het internet' genoemd. Cerf ontwikkelde in 1973 samen met Bob Kahn de architectuur van wat later het internet werd.
Vinton G. Cerf is vice president and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google. He contributes to global policy development and continued spread of the Internet. Widely known as one of the "Fathers of the Internet," Cerf is the co-designer of the TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the Internet.
Biography Vint Cerf. Dr. Vinton Cerf, an American computer scientist, is considered the inventor of the internet alongside Robert Kahn. He helped co-design the TCP/IP protocols which eventually lead to the development of the internet and internet-related data packet technologies.
Vinton G. Cerf and Robert E. Kahn led the design and implementation of the Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) that are the basis for the current internet. They formulated fundamental design principles of networking, specified TCP/IP to meet these requirements, prototyped TCP/IP, and coordinated several early TCP/IP implementations.
