Goats Head Soup was also the band’s first album without any cover songs since. Their Satanic Majesties Request in 1967. Inspired by their Jamaican surroundings they decided on the album title Goats Head Soup, which is meant to evoke the atmosphere of Jamaican Obeah Voodoo.
