Latterly he was married to Vivian Wong. David Richards passed away on the morning of Friday 20th December 2013 after a long illness. He will be remembered by many as a good friend. He was funny and generous and great company, a talented and capable man who had an instinctive "magic touch" in the recording studio.
David Richards (1956 – 20 December 2013) was an English Swiss-based record producer, engineer and musician. In the Mountain Studios in Montreux , owned by the rock band Queen , and in Attalens he engineered and co-produced many albums by Queen, David Bowie and other artists.

Today, he divides his time between running Prodrive, the motor sport company he founded in Banbury in 1984, and Cornwall, where he and his wife own two hotels, sometimes commuting between the two in their £6m Agusta Grand helicopter.
