Nils Lofgren is a virtuoso rock guitarist who has recorded and performed with Bruce Springsteen as a member of the E Street Band, Ringo Starr and Neil Young. He enjoys a successful solo career as a founding member of the seventies group Grin through over 40 releases including Acoustic Live, The Loner – Nils Sings Neil and an extensive box set retrospective Face The Music.
Born in Chicago and raised outside of Washington, DC, the guitarist Springsteen introduces onstage as “the great Nils Lofgren” actually grew up studying the accordion, beginning at age five, and playing classical and jazz before finding himself drawn to rock & roll at, satisfyingly enough, a Jimi Hendrix concert. D'origine suédoise et italienne, Nils Lofgren naît le 21 juin 1951 à Chicago. Il commence sa carrière à l’âge de 17 ans au sein des groupes Crystal Mesh, The Shot, et Paul Dowell & The Dolphin. Il rejoint rapidement le groupe de Neil Young et joue notamment du piano et de la guitare sur l’album platine After the Gold Rush en 1970 .
