This is a wonderful film. On paper, it doesn't sound that exciting. A fur trapper who lives roughly in the woods takes a mute for a wife. But with Rita Tushingham's expressive eyes and the raw sexuality of the young Oliver Reed, this film has sparks and energy that transcend the very basic plot.
