Na verdade, é um desses filmes únicos de ator-diretor, como The Night of the Hunter, que nos faz pensar, por sua força poética e original, que fazem todo o sentido de serem únicos. Talvez Cuny tenha esgotado tudo aí (já com mais de 80 anos, morreria três anos depois) e não teve a pulsão de filmar antes (não me recordo se ficou no quase).
